About Chen
Chen has over 18 years of experience driving digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and IT strategy across banking, financial services, and technology sectors. He has a proven record of building and scaling technology platforms, modernising core systems, and leading teams to deliver secure, resilient, and customer-centric solutions.
He has held senior technology leadership roles in several financial start-ups and at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he built cloud-native, microservices-based banking and lending platforms, established modern DevSecOps practices, and delivered regulatory-compliant digital solutions in highly regulated environments.
Beyond banking, Chen has helped start-ups scale their platforms from the ground up, including GoPeople, an Australian same-day delivery service, and has led delivery of major Australian initiatives such as Bunnings’ online shopping platform, Woolworths’ Wish Gift Card system, McDonald’s online portal, Bambora’s NPP payment gateway, and Sage Micropay’s payroll system.
Chen was appointed Chief Information Officer in August 2025, bringing to the role a combination of strategic vision and hands-on execution expertise to shape technology strategies that drive business growth and resilience.
