Steve has over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, including senior management roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), Bankwest and ABN Amro, domestically and overseas. Most recently Steve joined BNK from Avenue Bank, where he was CFO from 2021 to June 2023.

Steve served for 7 years as CFO of CBA’s Institutional Banking & Markets division, where he was responsible for providing financial support to its Institutional Lending & Transaction Banking, and Financial Markets and Domestic & International Equities units.

In addition, he spent 5 years as CFO & Head of Finance for CBA’s Business & Private Banking division, including financial oversight and integration of Bankwest.

Prior to joining CBA, Steve spent a decade with ABN Amro, where his roles included CFO (Australia and New Zealand), Regional CFO (Asia Pacific, WCS), and Global Head of the investment bank’s Product Control and Business Unit Finance divisions, based in London.

Steve also spent 10 years with Bankers Trust Australia, holds a Bachelor of Commerce (UNSW), is a qualified accountant (FCPA) and GAICD.

Steve was appointed Chief Financial Officer in Nov 2023.
